It is with great pleasure that we announce that OIE-WAHIS, the new online notification application from the OIE, and its public interface, is now officially live and publicly available at: https://wahis.oie.int/. We would also like to thank you for your patience and collaboration.
Starting today, you will be able to access the new platform to consult historic and new disease events as well as validated information from six-monthly reports. We invite you to visit OIE-WAHIS now and discover all the exciting characteristics of its fully renovated Public Interface. This video will help you navigate through all the new features.
What is new in OIE-WAHIS?
OIE-WAHIS has been redesigned and upgraded in a technologically advanced yet user-friendly form, providing comprehensive information about the global situation of animal health and diseases.
The new Public Interface makes information about animal health easily available and usable to everyone who needs it – government agencies, trade partners, international organizations, researchers, academics, civil society and journalists – and it continues to be free of charge. Users now have access to extended data mining, with tools for extraction – opening a new era of opportunity in data analysis.
Some things to keep in mind…
Release 1 of the newly launched platform incorporates historic and up to date information on immediate notifications of animal disease events, as well as the follow-up reports related to these events.
If you are seeking any historic data on Annual Reports and the Voluntary Report for non-OIE listed diseases of Wildlife Animals, please contact information.dept@oie.int as this information will not be available from OIE-WAHIS until OIE-WAHIS Release 2 goes live. We will update you of a launch date when it is available.
The new OIE-WAHIS Alert App will go live in April 2021. The information on the old Alert app will cease to be updated now. Further details will be communicated soon.
