USA.- Due to recent changes by Brazil in the procedures to register U.S plants that process fish and fishery products for human consumption, FAS/ Brasilia prepared this comprehensive report with instructions for U.S. exporters to register plants and product labels for fishery products.
All fishery plants must send a formal request to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Seafood Inspection Program (USDC/SIP) to begin the registration process. After NOAA receives the formal request, it will contact FAS/Brasilia to submit the registration request to include the plant in Brazil’s official list.
