AquaHoy is a digital aquaculture magazine founded in March 2006 and published by Aqua Center SRL from Chimbote, Peru. We publish in Spanish and English for farmers, technicians, researchers, industry companies and aquarium hobbyists. Our archive holds more than 16,000 published articles.
We believe the growth of the aquaculture industry is a genuine path to opportunity and prosperity, and that technical information should not be a privilege. Our goal is to democratize access to knowledge and innovation in aquaculture.
What we publish
We translate peer-reviewed research into language that can be applied on the farm. Every R&D article starts from a published study, cites the original reference, and explains what it means for a fish or shrimp farmer’s daily operation.
We cover the main farmed species — shrimp, salmon, tilapia, trout, seaweed and algae and bivalves — alongside ornamental fish and aquarium keeping.

Who is behind AquaHoy
Milthon Lujan Monja — Editor. Aquaculture Biologist from the Universidad Nacional del Santa (UNS) and holder of a Master’s degree in Science and Innovation Management from the Universitat Politècnica de València, with further diplomas in Business Innovation and Innovation Management.
He led the Fisheries Innovation Unit of Peru’s National Program for Innovation in Fisheries and Aquaculture (PNIPA). He has worked as a senior consultant in technology watch, as a designer and adviser of innovation projects, and as a lecturer at UNS. He is a member of the Peruvian Association of Biologists and was recognized by the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) in 2016 for his contribution to aquaculture.
Our editorial standards
We prioritize primary sources: papers in indexed scientific journals and reports from bodies such as FAO, EUMOFA, APROMAR and national fisheries and aquaculture authorities. We always link the original reference and give preference to open-access publications, so any reader can verify and go deeper than our summary.
Commercial content is published exclusively under the Sponsored label and is always identified as such, kept separate from our editorial coverage.
